Big Ups for Yumpeez!

October 13th, 2009

bigupsThank you to Alan Knight of Big Ups who invited us to share his booth last weekend at the Canadian Health Food Association Expo East in Toronto.  What a fantastic range of products they carry!

Alan was a great host, enabling us to meet and greet many retailers and other guests.  There was a real buzz at the booth as attendees sampled and chatted.

Yumpeez were a hit!  Dill Pickle and Barbecue had equal numbers of fans.

You will be pleased to know that Yumpeez are now in several retailers in the greater Toronto area, southern Ontario and Quebec.  Can’t find Yumpeez in your area?  Have your local retailer contact Big Ups (www.bigups.ca) or Yumpeez directly for free samples.  They’ve got to try them if they are going to buy them!

Peas in Toronto!

September 18th, 2009

pea-manVegetarians and vegans were out in force at Harbourfront, Toronto last weekend, lining up to sample Yumpeez.  Visitors asked where they could buy the tasty treat in Toronto.

Wandering the show were a carrot, a banana and, you guessed it, a pod full of peas.  It was no surprise that he loved Yumpeez!!!

Omni.2 Television were also there filming a Toronto Vegetarian Food Fair special (viewing Sunday 20 September, 11:30am), and Margaret, one of the Yumpeez mums, was interviewed.

Flavour and crunch with energy punch – that’s Yumpeez!

What’s that go-hiking food?

August 19th, 2009

jenJen completed a 20km round trip to Grey Owl’s cabin at Riding Mountain National Park comfortably and in good time. YUMPEEZ are a complex carbohydrate and high in protein – providing sustained energy right to the last kilometer.

Jen, a seasoned marathon runner, also mentioned that she ran her fastest 5k after, you guessed it, a pack of YUMPEEZ.  Her recommended flavour:  Dill Pickle.  Novice runners take note.  Click on “where to buy”, find your nearest retailer and get running.

Thanks for the tip Jen.

Congrats to Chantal from U of M

cakeCongratulations to Chantal Eusebio for completing her Food Industry Option for the Department of Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba!

As part of her placement with YUMPEEZ and the Urban-Go Centre, Chantal was involved in in-store sampling of YUMPEEZ at Sobey’s and Prairie Dog Central Railway.

She conducted a survey of all willing participants.  What did she help us to understand?  Firstly, the main reason people buy YUMPEEZ is because they are a high source of dietary fibre and high in iron.  The second most common reason is that YUMPEEZ are certified-organic.  She also identified the most popular new flavour to be cheddar, with honey roasted as a close second.

Great presentation Chantal, and great cake!

All Aboard the Prairie Dog Central!

May 25th, 2009

We all had a grand day on the Prairie Dog Central out to Grosse Isle MB.  In fact, we like it so much we’re going back!  Book to ride the Prairie Dog Central on August 22nd for Manitoba Farming Day and get a free back of Yumpeez on board.
